We’ve added a new Fortnite Developer Rule to address spam islands in Fortnite: 1.9.1 - “No one likes spam. Do not publish multiple copies of the same island or metadata in an attempt to manipulate search ranking, engagement, or visibility from the same account, alternate accounts or teammate accounts.” Starting March 11, developers breaking this rule will face escalating penalties, including impacts to monetization, island removal, and account suspension. We’ll also be rolling out new automated tooling in the coming weeks to prevent spam islands from being published. legal.epicgames.com/fortnite/devel…

A great addition to #UEFN would be exposing player portrait images to Verse, so we could use them in custom UMG UI or on in-world objects. Imagine leaderboards with player portraits, in-game bounty walls, end-game result screens, and more. @FNCreate @jwzyy 👀

As someone who has attempted to make mobile focused #UEFN games, the tools and support are still majorly lacking. Mobile Preview is great step forward but to call what we got "custom input & touch control" is VERY generous in its definition. Algorithm does not push mobile friendly games. Console players are the majority when it comes to Fortnite and those players play and interact with islands differently and discover algo responds to that. So we have to appeal to both and if we want to appeal to both, at MINIMUM, we need an API to know what platform the player is playing on so we can adjust HUD, features, load timings, and tutorials accordingly. Have you actually played the games you featured as "mobile-first" examples? You can practically hear the technical limitations of Spongebob Party creaking as you play it, not to mention its practically unplayable on PC. Just look at the CCU drop the moment it stopped getting massive featuring. Please do not begin a major mobile push before we have the proper tools just because Fortnite Mobile is finally allowed on app stores.

How to attach VFX Powerup particles to Vehicles: 1) use Skeletal Mesh Location in Particle Update 2) set Source Mode to Attach Parent 3) add BulletCollision to Component Tags ⚠ Must trigger the device while in a vehicle, otherwise particle will attach to the player. #UEFN

Publishing for in-island transactions will now open on January 9, 2026. We’re shifting the date out to give us more time for testing and bug fixes before going live to players. You will see the Experimental flag removed for in-island transactions soon but publishing will not go live until Jan 9.
