I don't like the disrespect shown to Puri chana and halwa on these days. The "poor kids" just dump on roadsides and keep the money/boxes. Some take it home. The guards and other regular folks appreciate the food/prasaad way more.

Indian immigration to the US is one of the most well-engineered systems in our institutions ndian-Americans skew heavily toward upper castes — Brahmins, Kayasthas, Banias — with very few Dalits making it through. Among South Asian applicants to Columbia, Brahmins and South Indian Hindus average ~1500 SAT, significantly higher than East Asians.

This is how elections happen in Bengal.
Dr. Archana Majumdar@DrArchanaWB

Is the @ECISVEEP really expecting a violence-free election in West Bengal? Ground reality at Basanti, South 24 Parganas tells a different story — @BJP4Bengal workers are being mercilessly attacked by @MamataOfficial Didi’s “lungi bahini”. If the @CEOWestBengal cannot ensure safety of voters and protect democratic rights from such elements, then the nation deserves answers.

Many years back I met a cabbie in New York who told me immigration without a plan to bring the family here is causing emotional stress to self. As our nieces and nephews slowly moved here I could understand what he was saying. Takes many years and everyone has to be on the same page.

One of the hardest things about living abroad is how the smallest to biggest incidents can mean you can’t see your family, even if you really want or need to. Covid. Wars. Visa issues. Work instability. It could be anything. The mental toll it takes isn’t talked about enough.

Do you think I should watch the new Dhurandhar sequel movie without having seen the first one? I have not seen either. Thinking of seeing the new one, but maybe I should first watch the first one. Movie theaters should screen the first one again for those who missed it.
