On this day 15 years ago, Florida State men's hoops dominated second-seeded Notre Dame to punch its ticket to the Sweet 16, 71-57. FSU shot 9-for-19 from deep. Bernard James led the Seminoles with 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Michael Snaer added 13 points.

On this day 12 years ago, Florida State softball swept the doubleheader with North Florida with a pair of run-rule victories in Jacksonville. FSU won 11-1 in five innings and then 8-0 in six. Brianna Hamilton had two hits in each game and finished with three RBIs for the day.

This really was the beginning of @FSU_Softball rise to prominence. We had just started in 2011 and watching this group of athletes it was evident the talent was just off the charts. Gave them 5 years to win a Championship and they did it in 6!!!

On this day 14 years ago, Florida State softball picked up two wins by shutout in Tampa. After Monica Perry threw a 2-hitter in a 1-0 win over Northwestern, Lacey Waldrop and Bailey Schinella combined for a 3-hitter in a 2-0 win over Fairfield. Maddie O'Brien homered in game two.

On this day 15 years ago, Florida State men's basketball topped Texas A&M for its first NCAA Tournament win in 13 years, 57-50. Derwin Kitchen led FSU with 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Bernard James added 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

On this day 25 years ago, Florida State baseball outlasted NC State in 14 innings, 8-7. The Wolfpack trailed 6-0 in the seventh before rallying. Mike Futrell had five of the 19 hits for FSU. John-Ford Griffin finished with three RBIs, including the go-ahead double in the 14th.

On this day 61 years ago, Florida State baseball held off Florida Southern College, 4-3. FSU got 6.1 strong innings on the mound from starting pitcher Eddie Howell. At the plate, Dick Fernandez and Mike Martin each had two hits, a run scored and an RBI.

On this day 35 years ago, Florida State men's basketball held off USC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, 75-72. FSU used a 12-0 second-half run to go in front for good. Doug Edwards led FSU with 24 points, nine rebounds and three steals.

On this day 20 years ago, Florida State softball scored two runs in the seventh to walk off North Carolina in its ACC opener, 2-1. After Michelle Snyder singled home the tying run, Natasha Jacob won it with a walk-off sacrifice fly to score Billie Anne Gay.
