So many things people keep repeating as facts about Africa that are not, keep intriguing me. The biggest of these misrepresentations is the population of Nigeria. I have said here several times that I don't think we are $200m people. We have not had a population census since 2006

According to @Worldometers live update portal, Cameroon's current population is over 27 million.
The last population census was carried out in 2005. It was the 3rd census in the country since independence in 1960. At that time. the total population was enumerated at 17,463,836.

Residents keep flocking into precarious neighborhoods in flood zones that cannot be built on in Douala.
This is driven by the lack of space in a city with a population growth rate of over 5.5% per year. The city gets some 110,000 new residents yearly.
