My main criticisms of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie > The lack of story really hurts the film > The movie is paced terribly > Rosalina doesn't really do anything > Bowsers "Redemption" is interesting but halfhearted > Fox's inclusion is really cool, but he adds nothing to the story > Yoshi adds nothing to the story > Mario almost feels like a side character in his own movie > Luigi is way more present in this film, but he still doesn't really do anything > Bowser and Bowser jr's "Arc" is pretty halfhearted > Rosalina's backstory is changed to something FAR worse than the original imo, and brings up more questions than it answers > A lot of references in this movie feel wasted by how little they matter (Mario 2 characters, Odyssey stuff etc) > The final battle looks pretty cool, but storywise and for a final battle I think it's pretty bad > The Mario Peach romance is rushed and nonexistent > Nothing is given anytime to breathe And because I know it's gonna be said, no I didn't expect this film to have a deep story, nor did it need one, it just need the story to WORK and imo it didn't. I didn't like the first film either, but this one was FAR worse at least to me. But that's just my opinion, what's yall's opinion on the movie? Did any of you enjoy it? And if so why?
