Adventures in Crypto: Mistakes, Strategies, and a Game Plan for 2025 Let’s take a little trip back to October 2023, when I decided to dive headfirst into the crypto world. With laser eyes and diamond hands, I sold off my $TSLA and $PLTR shares, reinvested in $COIN at $99, and loaded up on $BTC, $ETH, and $ADA. Why? The 2024 BTC halving was on the horizon, and history said, "Get ready for the fireworks!" Plus, with institutional giants like BlackRock entering the scene, my conviction in crypto fundamentals was rock solid. At the time, BTC was at $27K, ETH was $1.5K, and ADA sat at $0.28. Things started great—BTC hit a jaw-dropping $69K by March 2024. But then… my emotions took the wheel. Instead of sticking to my original plan of waiting for BTC dominance to reach 58–60%, I FOMO’d and shifted all my BTC and ETH to ADA at $60K. Big mistake. The market tanked, and altcoins, including ADA, took a brutal beating. Lesson learned: FOMO is your worst enemy in the crypto jungle. By mid-year, the struggle was real. ADA dropped over 50% from its February highs, and holding 100% in alts without BTC was a painful ride. Still, I doubled down, buying ADA dips in July and August to bring my average cost to $0.47. By October, I was back in the game, trading leveraged BTC and ETH ahead of Trump’s election. My hunch paid off—post-election pumps helped my portfolio recover, with ADA soaring nearly 4x from its lows. But let’s not forget the memes. I ventured into the wild world of memecoins with my first buy: RATS. It shot up 10x in a week, and instead of cashing out, I waited for more. Spoiler alert: It tanked, and I exited with a modest 2x gain. Sure, it wasn’t the moonshot I hoped for, but it taught me the ropes of memecoin strategy, on-chain tokens, and NFTs. Then there were the speculative plays: OLAS, ENA, OP, BVM, CKB, Merlin, PNUT, SciHub, DOG—you name it, I probably tried it. Most of these trendy coins hyped by the market ended up in losses, some as bad as -70%. The big takeaway? Focus on high-conviction plays like large caps and traditional finance assets. Despite the hiccups, my portfolio is still over 100% up since inception. -------------------------------------------------------- What I Learned Along the Way -FOMO is a trap. Stick to your plan, no matter how shiny the pump looks. -Greed kills gains. There will always be retraces and better entry points. -History rhymes, but with a twist. Learn from the past, but expect surprises. -------------------------------------------------------- The 2025 Game Plan: Smarter, Sharper, Stronger -ETH is my focus. I expect ETH to dominate in Q1 2025, followed by a juicy altseason. Leveraged and spot positions in ETH and ADA are locked and loaded. -Strategic selling. In Q3–Q4, I plan to gradually DCA out of crypto assets during BTC’s peak, keeping 20% in BTC for the long haul. -Reinvesting wisely. With profits, I’ll move back into $TSLA and other promising stocks while building cash reserves for the next crypto winter. -Refining my edge. I’m diving deeper into financial markets, studying utility protocols, and identifying high-potential projects with conviction. -Building community. Through my X account, I aim to share valuable insights on crypto, finance, and economics, connecting with like-minded enthusiasts and giving back to the community. -------------------------------------------------------- Final Thoughts 2023 and 2024 were wild rides, filled with mistakes, gains, and plenty of lessons. But as I head into 2025, I’m armed with a sharper strategy, a clearer mindset, and a burning ambition to make this year a turning point. Crypto has its ups and downs, but for me, it’s all about staying grounded, learning from the journey, and preparing for the next big opportunity. 🚀
