I did a video explainer for EdWeek recently and got horrible anti-gay comments, comments making fun of my appearance, my voice, etc. I know this is all part of the game, but it really hurts, and it really bothers me.

Just wanted to confirm that we are leaving homework in the pre-pandemic world, right?

We spend 50% more hours in school than Finland. And they get 15 mins of recess every hour. They have NO standardized tests except for PISA in HS and they outperform us every time. If we can’t give students more movement, recess, and play time then we don’t understand education.

@NicholasFerroni Never underestimate being there at just the right moment. They are listening and hear what they need to hear. Just being there regularly makes all the difference.

Virtual teaching is saying “hello, is anyone there?” over and over again, and waiting for just one student to respond. I am so grateful for the select few students who do respond. You are my heroes.

If you could spare a moment of prayer I could use it - yesterday I tested positive for Covid & was running a fever of 104. I came to the ER and was admitted. Bad cough, sore throat, Fever broke which is key, not sure when I’ll be released. Thx u for the prayers & well wishes
