Confession: We have a few critters around our farm who are completely useless from a production or economic standpoint. This guy is one of them. He was a goat kid who somehow slipped through the cracks and never got banded a few years ago. Instead of becoming anything remotely respectable, he grew up into the goofiest, most gremlin-looking little buck goat we’ve ever seen. He’s short-legged. Bad tempered. He’s got these weird little curled ear tips. He bullies animals ten times his size. Truly, there are no redeeming qualities about him whatsoever. Except that I cannot look at him without laughing. So he has officially become our farm jester. That’s his job. We pour money into feeding and maintaining him, and in return he provides comic relief and absolutely zero other benefits.
