RECALL OF PARLIAMENT FROM RECESS - FUEL PRICES: Following our proposal to amend various laws with the aim of reducing fuel prices, we have written to the Speaker of the National Assembly with a request to recall the house from recess at the earliest, preferably Monday to process the various proposed amendments. We have proposed amendments as below; Amendment on the VAT act to reduce VAT on fuel Products from 8% to Zero thereby making Petro, Diesel and Kerosene VAT exempt. This will save Kenyans Ksh 15.87 and Ksh 17.99 on Super Petro and diesel respectively. Reduction of RMLF by Ksh 7 through the revocation of the Road Maintenance Levy Fund (Imposition of Levy) Order, 2024. The proposal on additional Ksh 5Bn subsidies for Diesel does not necessarily need Parliamentary approval. All these proposals can reduce the Price by an acceptable margin and avert damaging inflationary effects to the economy. Thank you. We are African and Africa is our Business..

FUEL PRICES: Proposal on the reduction of Fuel Prices. We have already written to Parliament with the intention to amend the VAT act and RMLF. Below are the proposed measures to ease prices. Reduce the importers and distributors margin by Ksh 4. Provision of an additional subsidy Ksh 5 Billion for diesel from the Fuel Stabilization Fund. With a monthly consumption of 202 Million liters – Ksh 24.75 per liter. Reduce VAT by 8% and make the products exempt. Reduce Ksh 7 Fuel levy that was added in 2024. The measures will reduce price of Super Petro to Ksh 187.38 and Diesel to Ksh 189.16. All these proposals are intermediary measures for short and near medium term. Iraq secured massive debt cancellation after Saddam. Cuba rejected colonial debt imposed without consent. South Africa resisted apartheid-era obligations tied to oppression. Odious debt is not fiction. It is a principle backed by precedent, law, and the sovereign right of people not to finance corruption, repression, and theft. Kenyans cannot be forced to repay debts they neither approved nor benefited from.

Joy Wanjiru Gathigia, a 16-year-old Form Three student at Kenya High School, has been found alive, bringing relief to her family and the wider Kenyan public after a six-week search that gripped the nation. Joy went missing on April 1, 2026, the school's closing day for the Easter holiday. Her brother Denis Muhoro picked her up from the school at around 10am. He escorted her to the 2NK Sacco matatu stage in Nairobi's CBD, and she boarded a vehicle to Nyeri at approximately 11am but She never arrived home. Joy has now been found alive, approximately six weeks after she vanished. The full circumstances of where she was and what happened during that period have not yet been publicly disclosed. Pictured below is the photo her family shared when she went missing, alongside a photo of Joy today following her recovery. Looking at her eyes, you can clearly tell the young lady isn't okay.
