@gusvmx @VaughnVernon That's nice to hear that there are still bubbles of hope were people do see the advantages to understand the business. Any software methodology but CRUD is hard to get into people's minds. They will all learn the hard way that business is making final decision sooner or later.

@ThomasJaeger @VaughnVernon I agree, it's incredibly hard to persuade them, though not impossible. I've convinced quite a few and we've been building great software. It's even harder because we need to convince them and then suddenly UX experts come up with a generic save button that "saves" clicks... 🫠

I have long observed that teams almost automatically consider problem domains easy to implement because they gravitate toward reviewing only the use cases (stories, scenarios) that they already understand well. (See "Implementing Domain-Driven Design" #IDDD Chapter 1.) Due to this, they will start off with CRUD thinking and then later realize that the problem space requires far more than CRUD, if they even recognize the fact at all. Either way, by the time they might or should realize that CRUD is the problem, it’s either too late to adjust or they only have a hammer and continue pounding out CRUD. This is: “easy becomes complex and can’t be solved with simple.” It is basically backing your way into accidental complexity. It's accidental complexity by a thousand POSTs and PUTs.

I like this explanation of Ports & Adapters Architecture, using the name Hexagonal for economy of words. Although it's purposely without diagrams, Scott's post draws diagrams with prose. Read it. It's not only brief. You'll likely understand Hex/P&A if you haven't previously. 👏

Here's part I of a series of posts on Hexagonal/Ports & Adapters architecture. scotthannen.org/blog/2024/07/2… This covers the inside and the ports. Next comes the adapters, and then hopefully a code example that brings it together,

I know a lot of maxis don't like #BitcoinETF . I get it. Why buy an ETF when you can just buy the real thing. There are SOME legit use cases though. For example, my wife was fired from her job for not getting the ouchy fauchi. Her pension was given to her to invest. She can't touch it until she's 55. So where does a person like that put their money? #BitcoinETF In Canada we have several spot #BitcoinETF . Aped it all in and now she's almost 100 percent up. Lol. She literally has the best performing pension plan out there. 😅😅😅 Cry harder tradfi financial advisors.

I'm often asked, "If God is so good, why doesn't He destroy all evil?" I must assume you have never read the #bible in any meaningful way if you ask this question. The entire Gospel message is the proclamation that God, in Christ, has and is destroying all evil. Read the end of the book and you'll see He destroys all evil. However, if He is to do that now, where would you be? Those asking this question are actually inquiring of why God has not destroyed them more speedily! Repent, get right with God!
