@firasmodad Lebanon was in the ceasefire agreement. They might be holding back on opening the Strait of Hormuz until US/Israel honor that part of the deal.

Trump is stuck. He wants Iran to help lower oil prices by reopening Hormuz. But if he escalates again, the prices rise again, for much longer. Iran knows he can't launch a ground invasion and that the cost of fighting from the air is unsustainable for the global economy. So the Iranians are pushing their luck and keeping Hormuz closed to force Trump to include Lebanon in the ceasefire and to maintain their leverage for the Pakistan talks.

BREAKING: No one can explain why we have not yet seen, or even been told the names of, the fighter pilots that the US so bravely rescued from Iran when they definitely weren't trying to steal uranium. Why would Trump miss out on such a big PR win that he needs so badly? 🤔

@DarioCpx They've been talking about completely different deals since Tues night. But Trump waited until now to notice, and the markets have been happy to play pretend. There were probably significant concerns about the markets, and this rally probably helped some big players.

Guess he was too busy doing his victory laps for the past 48 hours to notice that the Strait of Hormuz is still mostly closed, and tolls are being charged. Trust me, by tomorrow mornings market open he will be talking all optimistically about Iran again. With Trump it's always comes back to business and the stock market.

Ceasefire's barely 24 hours old, and Israel (our greatest ally) is already blowing it up, literally. Largest coordinated strike on Lebanon since the war began. But sure, another masterclass in negotiation from the guy who threatened to wipe out an entire civilization the day before. Stable genius stuff.

It's all fake and imaginary. There's one 10-point plan they have consistently published. He's playing pretend to calm markets, and it's mostly worked. He's got a secret deal with much more moderate Iranians. Trust him. The Iranians say he is negotiating with himself and I think that's true.

It's the same 10-point plan that Iran has been offering the entire time. There was never a different version, except in Trump's imagination. This fake "deal" he's trying to take victory laps on was simply intended to move oil prices down, stock prices up (even if only temporary).
