@ThomasPope And so we can work on more clear scheduling in weather situations.
English
@GoTriangle But I don't think so, since I definitely was paying attention, and trying to watch carefully for the bus, since it was a bit cold out there and I was eager to get home.
English
@GoTriangle So do you know what happened? Do you know if that Route 305 bus did in fact pass the Kildare Farm & Tryon stop and intersection some time around 6:29 yesterday (Friday the 21st)? There's a lot of traffic around there at that time, so it's possible I could have failed to notice it
English
@GoRaleighNC Was a final notification released by 10 AM today? What was it?

@_GXM Indeed maybe anything sounding to be from "Out West" would've been enticingly exotic and aspirational to turn-of-the-century ears in a way that we can't quite relate-to today, conferring more marketing cachet upon those names—including "Colorado Avenue"—than I'd intuitively think
English
@_GXM Oh, yeah, good point. As a Chicagoan, those three street names (California, Sacramento, and Francisco) are *so* familiar that they're utterly commonplace, and one really never stops to think about or consider them, but they are indeed also a little odd.
English

One of Chicago’s lesser-known oldest, diagonal streets, a trail leading to the Des Plaines River at Widow Barry’s Tavern near Riverside.
Original end near Lake Street where passengers would transfer to downtown stagecoaches. Now all but forgotten and in a fragmented state.

@ThomasPope Correct those are on the right of way of the former road, it’s actually still called Barrypoint Road west of Riverside it looks
English
@_GXM And I was gonna ask if any trace of that route still persists west of Cicero Avenue, but it looks on the map like portions of Riverside Drive in Berwyn and Longcommon Road in Riverside are probably actually another disjunct continuation of it, if I'm not mistaken.
English

@ThomasPope It was meant to be a speculative type name, to attract upper class development to the area, I think it occurred around 1900 after downtown Wells name change. Was f/k/a Colorado Avenue, before that Barry Point Road and older names

@MattSpiegel670 Hi, Spiegs, any progress on the Our Game podcast returning?
Thx
English

@ThomasPope This is a lovely nudge to do one, as football has taken over. Thanks Thomas.
English

Thank you for your interaction and support during a nearly 3 year hiatus from daily radio life. It was meaningful. Thrilled to be back.

@MattSpiegel670 Say, Spiegs, is the Our Game podcast ever coming back this season? I haven't seen or heard anything about it in a long time, and frankly this is about the time when it's most needed, with the pennant races, upcoming postseason, and the clutter of football having begun to intrude.
