High of 19.7c at Claremorris this afternoon with Mount Dillion just behind at 19.6c. Some cloud has rolled in here in Carlow and a few other spots but most enjoying the sunshine still.

The blue skies have finally reached Carlow. A lovely evening for many but others left under cloud awaiting the summers day.

So now they have out a roof over Limerick or Donegal, where should get one next? The reason they don’t have warnings is Met Éireann forecast that they both won’t see the high rainfall totals to meet rain warning criteria and also won’t meet wind speed criteria.

Latest Met Éireann ensemble update shows winds in Yellow warning criteria in the South around 11am Saturday. Keep eye on weather warning updates. Also shows over 10mm of rain in 24 hours for much of country between noon Friday and noon Saturday, but over 20mm in Northern half.

A risk of some severe thunderstorms developing again this afternoon. As latest high resolution charts here show they will develop in Midlands and West and track North. Local flash flooding possible.

Plenty of people in the East asking about that Easterly wind and I’m afraid it will persist for the coming days. While it will get up to 25c in the West it will be closer to 17c or 18c near the East coast.

@CarlowWeather Looking into getting a system also. Alot of the suppliers are pushing to sell the system with out a battery because you can sell back to the grid, I still think the battery makes sense, (due to difference in unit cost of electricity purchase v sell) you think the same ?

I purchased a 5kw Solar PV install from Carlow company Infinite Energy in recent weeks and today was best day yet with over 30kWh generated! I’ll be sharing my experiences with Solar PV on my Carlow Weather accounts over the coming year to try help raise awareness of solar power and how it performs on the good days and the dull days throughout the year. I have 5 415w panels facing East and 7 415w panels facing South with a 5kw Solis inverter and a 5kWh Dyness battery. I received a discount on my system for sharing the details over the coming year on my Carlow Weather accounts.
