Our graduate student, Jacob Mast, received funding from the American Heart Association for his research and was awarded for excellence by the UC Department of Molecular & Cellular Biosciences 👏🧫🧪🔝

Dr. Thompson was invited to participate in the Nobel symposium 'TGF-β Family: Future Frontiers in Medicine and Physiology' that took place at Bergendal, Sweden 🇸🇪, from the 27th to the 30th of May. 👏

In summary, our research into AMH's non-latent signaling offers groundbreaking insights into its structure, function, and evolutionary history, laying the groundwork for future therapeutic developments. Many thanks to the lab and to our collaborators in Boston! 10/10

Our study sheds light on AMH's signaling mechanism, revealing how the prodomain's unique structure facilitates receptor interaction without inducing latency, offering a novel perspective on the mechanism. ✨9/10

Comparing AMH's open conformation in the procomplex with the closed, receptor-bound form reveals a dynamic structural shift, essential for signal activation. This transition, and the extremely open and extended GF conformation, structure is unique among TGFβ ligands. 🔁 6/10

A comparison of the AMH prodomain with other TGFβ family members underscores its evolutionary divergence. Unlike others, AMH facilitates signaling in a procomplex form, a fundamental departure from conventional latency and the typical binding mode. 5/10
