UAB football is expected to hire Alex Mortensen as the school’s next head coach, per ESPN’s @PeteThamel. Mortensen worked as the interim coach this year in the wake of Trent Dilfer’s dismissal. He beat No. 22 Memphis and won at Tulsa as the interim coach.

TCU is set to hire Colorado State’s Brett Cumnock as an assistant director of player personnel, a source tells @CBSSports/@247Sports. He previously worked at TCU in 2022. Before that, the Alabama grad was a student manager for Bama working with the team’s QBs.
