@olvrlstr @marcus_buckland How do you know it isn’t? Are you involved in the case? Do you have information on the case that everyone else doesn’t? I base my opinion on what I know specific to that case. You want to generalise every case to validate your own feelings.

@ThoughtsSpurs @marcus_buckland It really doesn’t, again, you’re just trying to make yourself feel better. Why not be up front instead of acting out this bullshit sophistry

@olvrlstr @marcus_buckland And your own argument goes against yourself. How do you know if coercive control is at play? You don’t. Reality is that every case is different. Imo, the evidence and actions in the last 4 years points towards her giving him a second chance.

@marcus_buckland @ThoughtsSpurs It’s not a good point. Violent relationships often see the victims of them remain. You have no idea if he was given a second chance, you just hope that’s the case to make yourself feel better

@no4883592786748 @GaryRWard If you have a problem with RDZ, then you have to allow him a chance to explain himself and the situation. He was only confirmed 12 hours ago, so you have to give him a chance to speak.

THST have sent an email to members this morning regarding their statement following the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi. " With regard to our statement on Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment, prior to the announcement, we were contacted by a number of members and supporters who asked us to raise their concerns with the Club. We took this, along with our reflections on how the Club's values and our Five Principles of Ownership were being upheld by the Club, into our decision-making. The Board determined they were not. Our aim was to challenge the Club and the newly appointed manager in a way that would clarify their position. We felt, based on the feedback we were receiving, that this was vital to ensure the fan base would feel heard, which, in turn, would enable us to all focus on supporting the team and the new manager in the final games of the season. We hope the Club will do so quickly. We appreciate all the support and constructive criticism we have received in this instance and will consider and reflect on the opinions of our members and other Spurs fans at our next meeting. This will include assessing mechanisms to take the pulse of our members' views at speed. More information to follow. We remain committed to being an independent, democratic body open to all Tottenham Hotspur supporters. We would encourage all of our members to get involved whenever they can and welcome ongoing dialogue on this and other issues impacting the Club. Our sole focus now is on supporting the team in the games we have left and playing our part in preventing relegation." #THFC #SPURS #COYS #TOTTENHAM

THST have replied to me today & confirmed another statement is due to address the context and rationale of the initial statement being released. Following complaints, concerns, and feedback from some members & fan groups, they felt it was important to challenge the club on this appointment to help a united fanbase. They will review all support & criticism internally too. #THFC #SPURS #COYS #TOTTENHAM

@GaryRWard @ThoughtsSpurs Pre-planned, ready to go - purely based on their feelings. I don’t buy for 1 minute that loads of fans were reaching out to them with concerns and issues over it all!

@GaryRWard Exactly that mate. There was a lot of links to RDZ since Frank was sacked. They had plenty of time to gauge the opinions of their members and the wider fanbase. Hopefully they learn these lessons going forward.

It was clearly pre-planned & ready to go. Why could they not have just posted. We acknowledge the appointment & will release a statement shortly? Then speak to members, address everything & then go from there. The "our preferences" for an interim is speaking for us all, whether we agreed to this or not.

@GaryRWard Agreed, and that completely goes against their purpose and principles. I’d also like to know when they prepared the statement and why they felt the need to release it as soon as RDZ was announced.

@ThoughtsSpurs To me, they've taken one side of things & run with this, rather than speaking or listening to all members.

I've read this through and it largely nails how I feel about the whole situation. I would implore every Spurs fan to read it and take on board what Martin Samuel is saying. I don't love the comparisons of Spurs fans use of the Y word but I understand why he's gone there.

@DougieCritchley Complete and utter bollocks. The THST didn’t consult with their members before putting out that statement. I haven’t seen one single member say they had been contacted. They do not speak for the club, fanbase as a whole, or even their own members.

A lot of noise in general over the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi, keeping it purely on the topic of football, this is a no-brainer compared to the alternative options in a limited market. There is one sole focus, that’s to ensure we retain our Premier League status, that’s it.

This is not me saying I like that decision, and I don’t like the fact RDZ pushed to sign MG. I also think RDZ could have handled his comments better. But that’s where I draw the line. I completely disagree with those that call RDZ an ‘apologist’ for MG’s actions.

Everyone can have an opinion on MG and RDZ, and no one has to agree or accept them either. But the one persons opinion/decision I do accept is the victims. And ultimately, the victim gave MG a second chance. If I can accept that, then I can accept RDZ doing the same thing.

So because I oppose the appointment of De Zerbi, I'm now expected to be aware of the wrongdoings of everyone who has ever passed through our football club. Honestly never thought my opinion of the human race could decline even further, but here we are.

@returnsumtapes @Kish_P14 Thing is the Partey and Greenwood situations in terms of the context around Arteta and RDZ are completely different. Not sure why people keep comparing them both.

@Kish_P14 It’s the same with Partey or Greenwood and so much we’ll never know about, there’s nothing fans can do. I don’t think it’ll ever be fair to expect fans to stop supporting a club bc of things outside of their control, you can only say your piece really

At the end of the day, football is full of horrible people. Our CEO clearly has no morals. I think it’s ok to accept that, and continue to support the team as long as you’re not trying to deny what De Zerbi is as a man. But let’s not try and deny what he is
