Mohammad Rizwan's overseas record in his last 9 innings:
10 (20), 44 (59), 4 (4) vs Bangladesh
Vs West Indies: 53 (69), 16 (38), 0 (1)
Vs New Zealand C team: 30 (34), 5 (27), 37 (32)
We all still remember his match-winning Champions Trophy knock of 42 (76) against India. However, overall, he hasn't improved his game at all.
He barely plays any shots on the offside, his strike rate remains very low, and he consumes far too many balls to score runs. In the BBL, he was outright embarrassed—due to his slow batting, he was retired out (effectively timed out).
Salman Ali Agha should bat at No. 4. Rizwan should be restricted to Test cricket only if we want a truly competitive team in the 2027 World Cup.
Additionally, Haseebullah Khan (or another promising young wicketkeeper-batter) should be groomed seriously for the wicket-keeping role to prepare for that tournament.
