A devastating night in Birmingham and across the country. Good public servants, colleagues and friends have lost their seats. This was a verdict on us not them. The PM has rightly said we must do better. It is a privilege to serve the British people and we must live up to it.

Martin Murray, Reform UK’s Leader in Staffordshire is asking for the Deputy Staffordshire Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner to step down because he forgot to tax and MOT his car? It’s a bit rich coming from a man who filed for liquidation for his company in 2018, owing tens of thousands of pounds to his local council, HMRC, suppliers and staff. He then had the audacity to blame Covid-19 and now serves as acting leader of a county council. You would think after Reform UK’s previous Staffordshire Leader was sacked for being a racist and his deputy defected to avoid a racism probe, he would keep his head down.

Martin Murray (@MartinPMurray) is the Reform UK Leader in Staffordshire (after Ian Cooper and Chris Large were sacked / resigned). He used to be Regional Ambassador for NTIA and claimed that his main aim was to support the night time economy. That's all gone now he's a Reform UK councillor. He's abandoned it. Seems though Martin converted his nightclub Silks in Cannock into luxury apartments. Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine has killed thousands of civilians. He’s threatened the use of nuclear weapons. He’s attempting to erase Ukrainian identity and culture. And he’s forcibly deported children. Zack Polanski should be ashamed of this comment.

This doesn’t sit right with me. Docking West Brom two points over money linked to its Foundation misses what clubs like this do in our communities. And changing the rule part way through the accounting period raises real questions. I’ll be taking this up with the EFL and the new regulator.
