Hmmm, maybe I guess you’ll just have to see? Our thesis is that: 1. We need to monetize IBC in some capacity to be able to develop and support it long term 2. We have tried sourcing donations, but this hasn’t worked yet (maybe it will when there are bigger winners?) 3. Roughly the open core model developed in web 2 seems like a good approach. we’ll keep IBC open, we will support users deploying their own IBC connections etc… We will also build an infra platform around it to provide a proper product experience around it. I’m extremely open to other ideas!

Squid launched TWO years ago! We've grown as a product, team, and ecosystem. From 1 supported chain to 80, 1 integrated project to 400+, and 1 user to 600k. It's been an incredible journey so far, and we're not even at the best part. Truth is, it's only the start. 💫

I definitely resonate with you on this. That being said, the Skip team is extremely talented, and I’m hopeful the ICF doesn’t create unnecessary friction. In fact, I’m more bullish than ever now that a dedicated product team is taking over. I really hope the ICF reads the room this time and recognizes the importance of community support. Tech alone means nothing without a community backing it unless you have a business so strong it can justify the valuation on its own.
