James Van Der Beek, the actor known for playing Dawson Leery on “Dawson’s Creek” has died. He was 48. Van Der Beek was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2023 and made his diagnosis public in 2024. Statement from his family: "Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. It’s kinda hard to catch the ball when the defender is pulling both your arms down. The league was never gonna let pass interference be called on this play. They would’ve picked up the flag even it it had been called. They need the ratings next week for #Steelers vs Ravens.
