Early December 2024 at Ballito Junction I borrowed a Smart Shopper card from a stranger in the queue. The moment it was swiped the machine rang. The cashier said there was a competition running and the card had just won R1 million cash.
I froze. We both knew the money belonged to the card owner. No debate. He thanked me, gave me the discount points, and walked away. We have never seen each other again.
