I’m getting tired of watching the world move deeper and deeper into censorship. Romania has already lived through decades where expression was controlled. I hoped we had learned from that history, that suppressing art and speech never fixes problems. It only pushes them underground and makes them worse. Now we have a scandal around our Eurovision entry because of the phrase “choke me” used in an artistic context. Suddenly people talk about disqualification, moral panic, and banning a song. But artists across the world have used intense, dark, or provocative imagery in music for decades, from Evanescence to Nine Inch Nails, Billie Eilish or Bring Me the Horizon. Art isn’t meant to be sterile or perfectly comfortable. 
It’s meant to explore emotion, tension, darkness, vulnerability, fantasy. If every uncomfortable word becomes a scandal, we don’t create a healthier culture, we create a quieter one. And history shows that quieter cultures are rarely freer ones.

The lingerie isn’t the source of the sexy. I am. It just reveals it.
