BREAKING: The LA City Council voted 10-5 to advance a proposal that would ALLOW non-citizens to vote in city and school board elections

Obama gives a shoutout to the brave people of Minneapolis for standing up to Trump, Miller and ICE.

This is the original text of the motion to amend LA’s City Charter to grant non-citizen immigrants the right to vote in City elections, introduced by DSA Councilmembers. It does not anywhere distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants, because they don’t believe there is one. Neither do they believe there is a legitimate distinction between US Citizens and non-citizens. They believe equity demands we all have the same rights, gutting the fundamental meaning of citizenship. They believe physical presence here is enough to entitle them to every benefit of being an American.

JUST IN: California’s Secretary of State announces the billionaire’s tax has qualified for the November ballot. On June 25th it will be certified, unless it is withdrawn by SEIU-UHW. That leaves state leaders about a week to try to negotiate it off the ballot.

Becerra: ‘I wouldn’t change anything about how California is run.’ Same energy as Kamala saying nothing needed to change under Biden. More of the same isn’t a plan—it’s a warning.

Today, my wife & I joined Donald Trump’s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime - they are simply trying to find one. He isn't coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President. He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt President in American history. We have nothing to hide. Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere. The country is watching.

Californians were fed up with retail theft and passed Prop 36 in all 58 counties with nearly 70% voter approval. Instead of fully funding and implementing what voters demanded, state legislators drafted AB 2108 and created yet another diversion program: this time for retail theft offenders. Like mental health diversion, it offers another way to avoid jail time. Offenders even walk away without a conviction on their record. Even more surprising is that some of California’s largest retailers, along with the California Retailers Association, support the bill despite reporting billions of dollars in losses due to retail theft. Voters wanted meaningful consequences for retail theft offenders, but the state legislature moved in the opposite direction.
