We celebrated Lois Krohn today on School Nurse's Day! She works extremely hard every day to support and care for our students. Navigating us through the pandemic the last couple years has been an overwhelming task. We are very fortunate to have her at FMS. Thanks Lois!!!
FMS is sponsoring a "Coin War" among our teams to raise money to benefit our very own Urban Tiger Room. Please join us by sending pennies or coins to school with your child. The "Coin War" runs through Friday, March 4th. The winning team will receive a special prize!
We had a great turnout for the FMS Spelling Bee! 55 students participated, and 1st-4th place in each grade are eligible to continue to the Dodge County Spelling Bee in North Bend January 26th. Congratulations to all competitors! They all did a fantastic job!
7B students reflected on why they love public schools! Students were given a writing prompt of Because of FMS, I am _____.
They came up with words such as: confident, intelligent, smart, involved, grateful. They also wrote a thank you note to a teacher they were thankful for.
7A students were investigators today in English class. They sifted through evidence from three case files to determine what they believe happened. It’s all a sneak peek of the book they’re reading this quarter: The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton.
Winter break has arrived. We want to wish our FMS families Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! Enjoy time together as a family and hopefully some well-deserved rest and relaxation. We will be excited to welcome our students back on Tuesday, January 4th!
Thank you to Fremont Altrusa for the donation of winter coats! January is when middle school students decide it is too cold to just wear a hoodie to school. This donation will greatly benefit our students. We are grateful for the continued support of our Urban Tiger Room.
7B students participated in an Incan Escape Room this week in Mrs. Bieker’s social studies class. Students had to use their knowledge of the Incas to solve the clues and crack the codes to unlock the next set of clues to escape the classroom. Students had fun racing to the end!
Mrs. Ronan’s 7B English students are in small groups, using 21st Century skills. Each student has a group task responsibility which helps the whole group achieve success as they critically think through a few non-fiction stories that teach valuable skills in overcoming adversity.
At FMS, ALL students created "Hero Hands" to honor the “heroes” in our lives. Each student wrote up to five different “heroes” in their lives on a paper hand. ALL hands were put together to create a flag to represent our thanks to Veterans who have fought for our freedom.
