@AtomicEconomics @j0ker937 You nailed it. I live in Canada, and since I do my own repairs I'm the next guy. Perhaps I go overboard because of past repair trauma.

@Tigerstripemap @j0ker937 Ah yep. I hear ya. Dealt with more than my fair share of that. Are you in an area that snows/salts the roads? Sure it's not corrosion?

@AtomicEconomics @j0ker937 I can understand their are professional standards and you get a sense for what needs to be precise and what needs to just get torqued on. Honestly I'm probably just bitter from having to deal with rounded and over torqued bolts.

@Tigerstripemap @j0ker937 Do you cook chicken with a thermometer? There comes a time where you understand there's tolerance, and your skill to judge if you're operating in that. For most auto uses, yes you are.

@ss_ced @j0ker937 I have been repairing my own and other vehicles for 18 years. I have owned the Haynes manual for every vehicle I have owned. I repair everything on my own up to rebuilding an engine. Yes I know a lot about repairing vehicles.

@Tigerstripemap @j0ker937 Do you know anything about vehicle repair? Oh course you dont, so with your little knowledge you will pick someone who will torque everything vs someone who knows when to torque something.

@AtomicEconomics @j0ker937 So you are implying that in a commercial setting, you would be scolded for installing a component properly? My point stands. This is why I have dedicated years to learning how to repair my own car. Just can't trust you guys. Would you install an oil filter with an impact wrench?

@AtomicEconomics @j0ker937 So the wheel bearing isn't a critical component? Wtf are there torque specs for the bolts then? Maybe I dont want you to over torque the bolts so the next guy doesn't have to remove the steering nuckel to drill out your over torqued bolts dickhead.

@Tigerstripemap @j0ker937 Haha. Dude only critical failure to torque things get measured torque. He'd probably be fired on the spot if the boss seen him shagging around with a torque wrench.

On Easter, let us celebrate the achievements of White Catholicism, greater than of any other religion: 1. Promotion of Monogamy (500-1000) Age of Scholasticism (6th-14th Centuries) European thinkers uniquely transformed Catholicism in the first theological religion. They offered the greatest insights in the reconciliation of faith with reason. Key figures include Boethius, Ambrose, Jerome, John Scotus Erigena, Anselm, Peter Abelard, Peter Lombard, Albertus Magnus, Thomas Aquinas, Bonaventure, Roger Bacon, Duns Scotus, and Meister Eckhart. Monks ensured the survival of classical knowledge through meticulous copying of ancient texts. 2. Contributions to the Theory of Motion Jean Buridan (1295-1358), a French priest, developed the concept of impetus, a precursor to the modern idea of momentum. He proposed that a moving object possesses an impetus proportional to its mass and velocity, which keeps it in motion until resisted by air or friction. This challenged Aristotle’s view that a constant external force was needed for motion. Nicole Oresme (1320-1382), a French bishop, developed a graphical representation of motion, using diagrams to depict changes in velocity over time, pointing towards the concept of acceleration. Nicholas of Cusa (1401-1464), a German cardinal, proposed ideas about the relativity of motion, suggesting that motion is relative to the observer’s frame of reference. 3. The Catholic Church enforced monogamy, dismantling polygamous clan structures prevalent in Germanic pagan societies. This weakened kinship-based norms and ties, fostering the growth of civic institutions, independent towns, and universities. By emphasizing exogamy and nuclear families, the Church laid the groundwork for interpersonal (non-tribal) trust and cooperation, a crucial requirement of a modern society. 4. Carolingian Renaissance (8th-9th Centuries) Under Charlemagne the Church revived classical learning. Monasteries and cathedral schools preserved and copied ancient texts, standardized Latin, and developed the Carolingian minuscule script. 5. Technological Innovations (9th-14th Centuries) Catholic Europe pioneered or dramatically improved the spinning wheel, stirrup, eyeglasses, magnetic compass, watermills, windmills, mechanical clocks, and modern glassmaking. It pioneered military innovations like the English longbow and agricultural advancements such as the heavy plow and three-field system. 6. Rise of Vernacular Literature and Heroic Traditions (800-1200) Catholic monks preserved and promoted vernacular languages, Celtic, Old French, Old Norse, Old High German, and Old English, through epic poetry and sagas. This age produced Beowulf, the Song of Roland, and Icelandic sagas, which reflected the heroic ethos of the Iliad, while blending Christian values with this ethos. 7. Papal Revolution (1058-12th Century) The Gregorian Reform established the Church as an independent authority, separation of Church and State. It introduced Canon Law, the first modern Western legal system, and creating differentiated realms of law, feudal, manorial, mercantile, urban, and royal law. 8. Romanesque Architecture (1000-1200) Catholic patronage drove the development of Romanesque architecture, characterized by solid stone structures, rounded arches, and "barrel, groin, and ribbed vaults". These innovations allowed for larger, luminous interiors. 9. Beginnings of Hospitals The Benedictines and Hospitallers established some of the earliest hospitals in Europe, which provided care for the sick, poor, and pilgrims. The Hotel-Dieu in Paris, founded around 651, is one of the oldest examples. The Church also established almshouses, orphanages, and leper hospitals. 10. Gothic Architecture (12th-16th centuries) The Gothic style emerged under Catholic patronage and aimed to reach God through pointed arches, flying buttresses, and expansive stained-glass windows. Cathedrals became centers of art, engineering, and spirituality. 11. Contributions to Music The Catholic Church standardized Gregorian chant, a monophonic form of sacred music that became the foundation of Western music. Guido of Arezzo developed musical notation, including the staff system, which revolutionized music composition and preservation. 12. Just War Theory Augustine and Aquinas developed the concept of just war, providing ethical frameworks for warfare that balanced moral considerations with the imperatives of real politics. 🚨 AUTO SHOP QUOTES WOMAN $1,200 FOR BRAKE JOB — THEN DELETES VIDEO AFTER BACKLASH An auto shop tells a woman a “normal” brake job costs $800–$1,200. No hesitation. Like it’s completely normal. After heavy pushback online… the video gets deleted. Then this man responds... calling it “capitalistic well poisoning.” • Brake pads? ~$120 total • Labor? ~2 hours max • Fair rate? $85–$130/hr That puts a realistic total closer to: ➡️ $300–$400 “A good mechanic can do it in about an hour… but they still charge double.” Same job. Two completely different prices. One video disappears. How often does this happen without anyone catching it?

🤔 How do we ever get the Strait of Hormuz open again? "Listen, we degraded and we destroyed. That's what we came here to do. We did not come here for some experiment in democracy. We wish the best to the Iranian people to do the things they need to do. And if Iran does not back down, if after that declaration, Iran continues to destroy cargo containers moving through the narrow straits, I think you're going to see Iran's neighbors, and Israel, and others get very involved as it pertains to Iran because it's in their interest. The United States produces 20 million barrels of oil a day and we consume 20 million barrels a day. This is a modest problem for the United States. This is a massive problem for China. This is a massive problem for Asia. This is a massive problem for all of our friends in the Gulf who are trying to dodge Iranian missiles right now. So there are a lot of people in the world who will take up arms to deal with the Iranians if the United States isn't there, because we can take care of ourselves... This is not a risk-free initiative by the United States, nor was Venezuela. But let me steel man the alternative. Doing nothing and allowing Iran to procure the ingredients for a nuclear missile when they are set on the destruction of the United States and U.S. interests, doing nothing in Venezuela while the Monroe Doctrine is totally wrecked and we let our adversaries take up positions in South America, those also have risks, right? Those carry a lot of risks. And so we're weighing these two risks. Again, for me, I don't like the fact that we're engaged in military activities here, but I will tell you, I am very much on the side that if we're going to go protect American national security interests, you go in, you do the degrading of their capability and you get out. And I think that's what I hear out of the president." –Brad Gerstner (@altcap) on @theallinpod

@its_t_train @greatestbkfacts I get your reaction i really do. Normies just lead to inshitification so barriers to entry are important. I just get frustrated because occasionally I dip into the neich programs for very specific purposes, and I just dont have the interest to learn coding to do it.

It's not that I don't like catholics, I don't like christian theology because I believe it's basically a universal form of judaism that evolved out of an apocalyptic desert cult. In my view the best way to get rid of jewish influence in the west is to get out of this abrahamic paradigm completely. You can disagree with me, my original post was crass but I don't wish any ill will on anyone for being christian, it's how many of us were raised after all.
