In La Guaira, one of the areas hardest-hit by the earthquakes that shook Venezuela, the collapse of buildings continues to generate moments of distress and hope. This Thursday, a building that had been severely hit by the earthquakes ended up collapsing, in images that quickly went viral on social networks. Meanwhile, rescue crews continue to work around the clock to find survivors among the rubble. Security cameras captured shocking scenes during the emergency. In one of the videos, a mother protects her child in the middle of strong telluric movement, while in another, several neighbors can be seen to get out seconds before the structure collapses. Stories like these reflect the drama that thousands of Venezuelan families live, but also the courage and miracles that continue to happen in the midst of tragedy.”
