“De@th to all men” A sneak peek of what a world without men would actually look like

The Strait of Hormuz: Narrowest point: 21 nautical miles (33–39 km) wide (between Musandam, Oman & Iran). Shipping lanes (TSS): Two lanes, each 2 miles (~3.2 km) wide — one inbound, one outbound — separated by a 2-mile buffer zone. Capacity: Normally 80–140 ships per day (mostly tankers), carrying 20–21 million barrels of oil daily (20% of global seaborne oil trade). Multiple large tankers can sail in one lane at once, but with safe distances and strict one-way rules. The canal: The proposed Musandam Canal would need to be at least 200–300 meters (0.12–0.19 miles) wide at the surface — wider than today’s Suez Canal — to safely handle massive VLCC supertankers in both directions while carrying ~20 million barrels of oil per day.
