I’ve been away for a bit. We haven’t been having the best time, to be honest. I’ve noticed a few things happening with Ofsted and their supporters recently, and I’ve written about it. Ofsted, of course, are driving on regardless. difficultlessons.wordpress.com/2026/03/17/dri…

And why was the Fwk introduced? We can take that trail back to an inspection at Caversham Primary School. Has anything actually changed?

@dave_mcpartlin Too much on the headteacher. All day for both days. Not a minute free.

Perhaps unsurprisingly - this isn't getting the traction it deserves. Please help by retweeting if you care about learning lessons from the appalling mismanagement of the COVID19 epidemic in the UK. We had FIVE TIMES the death rate of East Asian countries.

Here's a thread - sharing some hard-hitting truth-telling from UCL Prof Anthony Costello...aka @globalhlthtwit “The Covid Public Inquiry is a devastating critique of medical advisers, civil servants and politicians who led the UK to the worst public health disaster in a century. More than 230,000 deaths.” 1/13 bylinesupplement.com/p/230000-death…

Has Sarah Pochin lost the whip yet? Imagine this was Angela Rayner, our entire media would be bursting at the seams to have her sacked. It would be 5 front page headlines and scrolling on most news channels. Reform are racist and backed by our legacy media — change my mind.

The sector is united in its view that the consultation was fundamentally flawed and that the revised framework represents a clear risk to the health and well-being of those we represent. bit.ly/3WlS2nv

Ofsted’s revised framework is harmful, unsafe and unworkable. We're calling on the inspectorate to stop and rethink. A better way is possible. Other parts of the UK already use more constructive, less damaging approaches to inspection. Find out more and join our campaign: bit.ly/43j0HuC

Two years after Ruth Perry’s death, the hearing showed Ofsted is still controlling its own narrative. Ofsted listens continually, reforms cosmetically, and delays structurally. Until such candour is the law, accountability remains optional. And when truth is optional, trust dies.

We are standing on the edge of the 'new' framework rollout. No lessons from Ruth Perry’s death have been learnt. More work, still high stakes, zero independent challenge. This isn’t reform — it’s negligence. If we don’t push back now, the consequences could be catastrophic.

⚠️ Act now for fairer. safer inspection We're calling on Ofsted to halt the introduction of its revised framework and rethink its approach in light of evidence that its plans will damage school leader mental health & well-being. Get involved - send a letter to your employer 👉 naht.org.uk/Ofsted

A through line, from day one, voiced by Ruth’s sister, myself, the inquest, inquiry, review and the wellbeing assessment has been the inherent danger of a competitive grading system with high-stakes consequences judged by a fallible inspection regime. This has not changed…

Ofsted is perpetuating a high-stakes punitive regime that risks serious harm to school leaders and teachers. The inspectorate had the opportunity to listen to the profession. Instead it is sticking to a model that was overwhelming rejected when unveiled earlier this year. bbc.in/46hsKeU

Well done Ofsted for that utter pigs-ear of a new framework. The Big Listen was obviously a Big Ignore. It takes some doing to take something bad and make it worse.

Well, so much for "The Big Listen". The teaching profession had asked and hoped for change. Today, Ofsted has confirmed what many of us had feared. Ofsted hasn't listened. Ofsted hasn't changed. They've had thirty plus years and countless frameworks to get things right...
