@TimHDav @TobyDurant @tes It’s a narrative based on twenty years working in schools. I haven’t mentioned academic performance anywhere, and not sure where caps and gowns have come from. I’ve also not mentioned shoes, but all aspects of uniform should be easy, cheap and comfortable.

@rochdalescouser @TobyDurant @tes False narrative. Entirely artificial to wear ridiculous caps, gowns. Many parents actually struggle to buy the uniforms! Clothes for play & school, rather than just clothes. Ditto regulation shoes which can’t be passed. Of course uniform has nowt to do with acadam performance

@TimHDav @TobyDurant @tes When every day is a non uniform day, it doesn’t mean no drama, it means the poorest and most vulnerable kids have even more to worry about. A uniform is a great leveler in schools, it means everyone looks the same. Can also be passed down easily through younger siblings.

@rochdalescouser @TobyDurant @tes If it’s normal to not wear uniform no non uniform day & no drama. Teach students how to dress appropriately rather than forcing them into a ridiculous blazer. More useful. Pride & camaraderie do not require everyone to look the same.

Wayne Rooney was a better player than Neymar. By a country mile. There isn’t one aspect of football where Neymar outshines Rooney. Vision, output, effectiveness, mentality…it’s all Rooney. Some things in football are to be debated, others are straight up fact, this is the latter

@TimHDav @BBCMOTD Opening up the 5th spot to CL doesn’t make the club that finishes 5th necessarily elite. Chelsea are just a top half club, they’ll finish 6 or 7 this year, they finished 6th in 2024 and 12th in 2023. They’re at the level Everton were at under Moyes in the late 00’s

Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see this mentioned much when people talk of their favourite Zep albums. Don’t know why because it’s a topper. The bombastic rush of the opening song into the mystic splendour of The Rain Song is one of their great one-two punches. The whole album flows wonderfully from track to track, though. Not a fan of The Crunge, but the rest is excellent. Aye, even D’yer Mak’er.
