@AJGardineresq @brentcostelloe Was a re-development of North Hobart ever on the public discussion agenda? The playing area would’ve needed expansion, but surely that wasn’t impossible. Could’ve been turned into a brilliant facility for well under a billion, without dividing the city.

Another factor is that most of Tasmania’s ardent footy fans live in the north and north-west. Travel from the n-w could be a 7-8 hour round trip. So it would be folly to put all the eggs in the Hobart stadium basket case.

So, Ben Stokes says the umpires had somehow implied that it was ‘Over’. Well if they did, it was absolutely their responsibility to adjudge Bairstow not out. That they didn’t means this isn’t about Australia contravening the law. Which leaves ‘the spirit’.
