***Nebraska is in the middle of a devastating wildfire emergency.*** It is the worst wildfire destruction our state has ever experienced. Nearly three quarters of a million acres have already been consumed, and the fires continue to spread with no containment in sight. The Morrill Fire, the largest ever recorded in Nebraska, along with the Cottonwood, Anderson Bridge, and Road 203 fires, are sweeping across the state with force. Highways are closing. Families are being forced to evacuate. A state of emergency has been declared. And heartbreakingly, a life has already been lost. The conditions are fueling the chaos. Strong winds. Dry land. Fire moving faster than it can be fought. This situation is not under control. In a moment like this, Nebraska needs more than manpower and resources. We need prayer.

From NSVFA: "Effective immediately the Governor has issued an Executive Order that bans the issuance of Open Burn Permits for 14 days. The Executive Order prohibits any fire chief or person designated by the fire chief from granting an open burn permit for any purpose. Any existing burn permit that has not been completed is null and void and open burning is not permitted for 14 consecutive days beginning now. This order will be reviewed prior to its termination to determine the need to extend the ban. Further information will be provided prior to that date."

Nebraska wildfires ripped across the landscape last night, with the pilot who sent these images in saying they mapped this fire at 72 miles long. The Road 203 Fire south of Halsey was mapped at 36,000 acres, but could be larger this morning. Multiple wildfires were active through the night and evacuation orders went out for many rural communities. Insane views of these fires. Thanks to the subscriber and pilot who shared these incredible images of these Nebraska fires.
