Queensland, like other States and Territories, works with the Commonwealth Government to support Lifeblood’s milk banks, a life-saving service for our most vulnerable babies.

Around 24,000 babies are born prematurely or with a very low birth weight each year in Australia, including 5000 in Queensland. Donor breast milk can make a life-saving difference to these babies.

And for parents, it’s a game-changer, especially for little ones who might be nervous about needles. The Crisafulli Government’s $31 million free flu vaccination program is now underway, with FluMist available for children aged 2–5 years at GPs and pharmacies across Queensland.

It’s a simple step that makes a big difference. Getting vaccinated helps protect your family from serious illness this flu season, while also easing pressure on our hospitals by reducing avoidable admissions.

Little Lenny and Sophie are set for winter, protected through Queensland’s free flu vaccination program. While Sophie rolled up her sleeve, Lenny was one of the first kids in Australia to receive the FluMist nasal spray - no needles, no tears.

Under our fully funded Hospital Rescue Plan, the Gladstone Hospital expansion will deliver 51 beds and treatment spaces, including 40 inpatient beds, six dialysis chairs and five high-dependency beds, with completion expected in mid-2027.

We promised to deliver the hospital Gladstone needs, and now work has begun. Labor left parts of Gladstone Hospital unusable after a decade of decline. Now, the Crisafulli Government is restoring health services when you need and delivering easier access closer to home.
