63% of US job seekers have already been interviewed by AI. And yet - candidates aren't thrilled about it. Over the last 2 years, I've seen the headlines. "Candidates love AI interviews -- no bias, available 24/7." The narrative sounds compelling. The data from Greenhouse tells a different story: - 38% walked away from a hiring process because it included AI - 70% say AI was not clearly disclosed before the interview - 17% only found out AI was involved once the interview had already started - 51% were ghosted or still waiting after completing an AI interview And the bias argument - the main reason companies use to justify AI interviews? AI interviewers show 36% age bias and 27% race/ethnicity bias. Identical to human interviewers. AI isn't solving bias. It's replicating it. With less transparency and zero accountability. Candidates are not walking away from AI. They are walking away from bad experiences caused by bad AI.
