John Thune has FAILED on the SAVE America Act, FAILED on funding ICE and CBP and FAILED to enact Trump’s mandate that 77 Million people voted for. He told us exactly how he really feels about Trump from the start. America deserves a leader in the Senate who gets things done.
Dearest President Trump @POTUS …. Please consider using your constitutional authority to immediately reconvene the Senate…. because the American people are getting real tired of watching Republican leadership stall, pout, and play games while important issues sit untouched. America needs strength and action right now…. not childish behavior and excuses from the very people we sent there to get things done. Your time in office is moving far too quickly to allow the Senate to sit frozen in dysfunction…. we need the Senate in line and moving now while there is still time to secure the agenda the American people voted for. The Senate already played games with pro forma sessions to block recess appointments…. so now it is time for real pressure and real leadership. Keep them in session…. force accountability votes…. expose publicly who is blocking the agenda…. use the bully pulpit every single day…. rally the American people directly against the obstruction…. pressure the Republican conference to replace weak leadership if necessary…. and make every senator publicly answer for why they are delaying the will of the American people. Vice President @JDVance should stop treating the role of President of the Senate as ceremonial and start occupying that chair daily until business gets done…. whether Senate leadership likes the pressure or not. Be present…. preside over the chamber…. force urgency…. force visibility…. and make senators publicly conduct the people’s business instead of quietly disappearing into procedural games and vacations while the country waits. This is not the time for weak Republicans, timid leadership, and business as usual in the Senate…. this is the time to fight with urgency and use every lawful constitutional tool available to move the agenda the American people voted for…. even if it means exploring powers, procedures, and constitutional pressure points that have rarely been used in modern history. The American people voted for action…. not theater….. the Senate Republicans are playing games with us…. Please don’t let them! Thank you for continuing to fight for the American people. Hello Senator Thune, I'm replying to your post from yesterday: "Despite Democrats' partisan games, we're still going to get the entire federal government funded." Today, you sent the Senate home... not because of Democrats. Because of you. Here's what actually happened. On May 18, the DOJ announced an Anti-Weaponization Fund: $1.776 billion to compensate Americans harmed by Biden-era DOJ abuse. Your own caucus revolted. After a two-hour closed-door meeting, you departed for Memorial Day recess without a vote. ICE and CBP funding, punted to June 1. The "partisan games," it turns out, were yours. Your stated objections: no congressional authorization, no eligibility standards, no legal precedent, executive overreach. Fine. But let's talk about November 2025, when you tucked a provision into the government funding bill. The FBI had quietly seized phone records from eight Republican senators without notice, under an investigation codenamed "Arctic Frost." Your provision gave those senators, and only those senators, $500,000 per violation, retroactive to 2022. The House voted 426-0 to repeal it. The critics weren't opposed to compensating victims of DOJ abuse. They were opposed to senators compensating themselves while doing no other structural reforms. Lindsey Graham held the Senate hostage to preserve it. He delayed a spending deal in January 2026 to secure a floor vote on his revised version. Let's put the two columns next to each other: ➤ DOJ abused senators: $500K/violation payout, senators only, no hearings, no process, no eligibility debate, no floor vote on substance. ➤ DOJ abused Americans: "very legitimate questions," two-hour meeting, Senate goes home, reconciliation punted, June 1 deadline in jeopardy.
