@akintollgate Pray make this one no pass on. If it happens, you'd understand. The jubilation will eclipse anything witnessed for Abacha. This one's reign is far worse on every index. Security Economy HDI Accountability Corruption .... name it !!!

The day news of General Sani Abacha’s death broke, the entire country jubilated. Beyond his death in 1998, 🇳🇬 emerged from its dystopian era. The fear of mentioning his name in an Elelenwo beer parlor in port harcourt was a conscious feeling. Do your politics, but be sincere.🙏🏾

In the Southeast, we saw the military go into villages, packing people they “suspected” were terrorists. Why aren’t we seeing the same in Jos where the attackers live openly in those communities? We’re deceiving ourselves in this country.

I watched this video and paused it halfway to make a resolve in my heart, yet again, that wherever this man goes, I will follow. I will follow him down the most narrow, winding paths. I will hold his hand and walk into a lake of fire by his side. I will fall a thousand for his sake. So help me God

“It is only in Nigeria that a man wants to lead you to kill you. I say I don’t want your leadership, you say you must want it. In Nigeria political space, leadership is by force. I don’t want you to lead me, no, I must lead you, don’t be my leader, I must be your leader. Okay, let me select my leader, I must snatch your ballot box. The last two elections in Nigeria has proven one thing, PVC is useless. This thing we calling democracy in Nigeria is useless, we must return it. democracy we have in Nigeria is not democracy. It is a duplicate. What we have is a government of the Agbero, by the Agbero and for the Agbero . Agberocracy” - Pastor Sulaiman

@onu_slim A CEO can fire any non/under performing employee Wike has been wretched That Wike is appointed, all the more makes it PBAT's fault cos he has the power to hire & fire. This won't be the case for a Governor who's an elected official as the President has no legal power over him

I used to blame Tinubu for the electricity problem. Then I read the Electricity Act 2023 Today. Now I blame Wike. This is the first thing I will not blame Tinubu about. The Electricity Act 2023 removed electricity from the federal concurrent list and handed every state, including the FCT, full power to build its own electricity market, license its own operators, set up its own regulatory body, and attract its own investors. (Meaning that Tinubu does not even know why we don’t have light). Tinubu signed that law in June 2023 then Wike became FCT Minister in August 2023. That means for over two years, Wike has had the full legal authority to fix electricity in Abuja…. on his own terms. Over 80% of Nigerian states have already aligned with the Act, set up frameworks, launched mini-grids, and began attracting investment. Wike has been busy demolishing houses, fighting Rivers State politics from Abuja, and commissioning roads. Abuja is not a state. It has no elected governor. Wike IS the governor. Every darkness you sit in tonight in Abuja is his darkness to own. The law gave him the tools and the President gave him the job. The people gave him their patience. He gave them nothing but press conferences. Stop blaming Tinubu for Abuja’s electricity. Read the Act then find Wike. Many will not like this but it’s true….

Massive respect to Arsène Wenger, man kept Arsenal competitive for decades on a shoestring budget. Now look at Manchester United and Chelsea… billions spent, still struggling. Put them on Wenger-level funding… na relegation be that na🤷‍♀️ . . #arsenal #chelsea #manchesterunited #arsenewenger #arsenalfc

Michael Carrick wrote about this experience in his book, ‘Between the Lines’. It wasn't a nice narration. He wrote about how difficult a footballer’s life is and how that trip wasn't convenient for many of them. His description of Nigeria and Abuja in that book was scathing. He wrote about some Policemen breaking a photographer’s camera and beating him for taking a picture of them. He said he yelled after them. “They grabbed him, jabbed him in the ribs and dragged him round the back of the hotel. ‘Whoa, what’s up? It’s only a picture. We never saw him again. It was all a bit over the top,” he wrote. In another paragraph, his words were; “the whole experience in Abuja was like being trapped in a horror film”. Read his conclusion; “The trip lasted only 16 hours, but Abuja’s effects lasted longer. I vomited for a week, but some lads had it far worse. They were so sick that United sent a sample off to some university and, I’m not kidding, they found monkey and rat shit in the sample. The university docs said they’d never seen anything like it before. So, no, I won’t remember Abuja happily and I can’t imagine the other lads will either. Those are the type of souvenirs you don’t want to bring back from tours abroad.” It was the last time any big team was in Nigeria. Eighteen years ago. We will learn one way or the other. My name is Rilwan, I love and write about football systems, memories and the depths behind the game. Follow me and repost if you want more of this.

1. GTCO - 30%. Strongest risk-reward on the NGX right now. Earnings are growing, dividends are consistent, and the stock is still undervalued after recapitalisation. 2. Seplat Energy - 25%. The largest independent E&P on the NGX with both oil upside and a gas play through ANOH that most people are ignoring. 3. Dangote Cement - 20%. Pricing power, infrastructure spending, and pan-African expansion in one stock. The dividend alone justifies holding. 3. MTN Nigeria - 15%. Data revenue keeps climbing, subscriber base is massive, and MoMo PSB is a fintech arm the market has not fully priced in. 4. BUA Foods - 10%. People eat regardless of what the economy does. Margins are strong and the dividend just doubled to N28 per share. Heavy at the top because GTCO and Seplat have the clearest path to outsized returns over 7 years. Lighter on BUA Foods because the valuation is already stretched even though the business is solid.
