It's pretty crazy that Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Outlaw Star all came out at roughly the same time, pioneering the Space Western genre in the late 90s and then... That was it. That's the genre. There was no significant Space Western anime after that.

They travel for enough time that Lucy is very much dehydrated. It takes about 3 days to go from the Los Angeles area to the Shady Sands area (Around Death Valley) on foot. "What about the Hub? They would have hit it!" Counterpoint: Cooper avoided the Hub because he's a dick.

With the existence of the Boneyard being confirmed in Season 2 of the Fallout Show it's looking more and more like I was right and everyone else was wrong and that it just took them several days of travel to get there with Cooper purposefully avoiding cities to be a dick.

Can't wait to repeat this for Season 3
