@DrUmarAlQadri @fatima_gunning Irish people are an ethnic group sharing common ancestry-history-culture,underlined by Genetics.
To be Irish it's tied to ancestry,indigenous heritage,and cultural belonging not just birthplace.
So Doc you ain't Irish.
English

Fatima, the irony is incredible. You are half Pakistani yourself, visibly mixed heritage, and your own name isn’t even traditionally Irish , yet you’ve appointed yourself the gatekeeper of who gets to be called Irish.
Nobody said Irish culture is a “costume.” That’s your own exaggeration. Calling a woman from a diverse background Irish does not erase Irish identity.
You expect your own Irishness to be accepted, but seem offended when that same acceptance is extended to others. That’s hypocrisy, plain and simple.
Ireland is not so fragile that it collapses because a brown or black woman is called Irish.
English

I would never have had the cheek to lecture Japanese people about what it means to be Japanese when I lived in Japan. Imagine if an Irish man moved to Ghana and tried to tell the native people that their culture and heritage has no inherent meaning and is essentially a costume anyone can put on.

Suad Mooge is not “the new Irish”, she is Irish. Born and raised in Ireland, shaped by its people, culture, humour, and values like countless others. Her appointment as Dublin Rose is a reminder that Irishness is not defined by skin colour, but by belonging, contribution, and shared identity. A proud moment for Ireland. 🇮🇪

@irishexaminer Talk is cheap when out canvassing,
Remember Ahern was Taoiseach during the period, when mass uncapped immigration started,and accelerated into Ireland.

@DrUmarAIQadri
In honesty doc you or other foreigners can't claim to be Irish in the ethnic sense, it's tied to ancestry, indigenous heritage, cultural belonging,
And genetics,it's not just birthplace.
English

"Irishness is not defined by skin colour"
Correct. It's defined by your genealogy. Suad has Somalian parents, she isn't Irish, an Irish citizen, sure. That can be revoked at any time, but Irish no, @DrUmarAlQadri
Less of your patronizing, gaslighting, race-baiting please.

@DanMulhall @dublincomments Do you know what genetics is.
And what distinguishes the irish and their connection to this island for millenia.
Get off you're knees you grovelling fool.
English

I can’t understand why anyone would have any issue with someone born in Sligo being Irish. The only reason is racism, pure and simple & that’s shameful. It’s true that she not of Irish heritage but that’s a different thing. There are plenty of people born outside of Ireland who are citizens of Ireland by descent. Are they Irish? Under our laws, yes they are & regardless of their race.
English

‘— What is your nation if I may ask, says the citizen.
— Ireland, says Bloom. I was born here. Ireland.’ -James Joyce, Ulysses.
Same applies to Suad Mooge, born in Ireland.
Same applies

@robertmcguinn18 @amandaregan2024 Do you understand the science of genetics,she is genetically african,
Up to 90% of Irish men carry haplogroup R1b-L21 its rather distinctive and connects us through the paternal line to this island for millenia.
Science does not lie.
English

@amandaregan2024 She’s more Irish than you Princess and there’s nothing you can do about it.
English

@Negscratch @patricej36 We didn't colonize anyone unlike you bastards,we went to vast countries like america due to factors such as famine,America that could absorb multitudes of people not just the Irish and helped build it,we are a tiny island where 1 in 4 here are foreign born
English

@patricej36 The Irish.
A famously stay-at-home nation.
If emigration is fine for the Irish, why is it wrong for the rest of the planet?

Just been sent this by one of the Irish followers: “That’s in Ireland now pal. A place called Ballymun there was up to 30 Muslims found in an apartment on Friday using it as a mosque. The people are sick of it. We wouldn’t get away with going to there country and settings up a Christian or Catholic Church”.

We can only blame our governments for this. People aren’t backing down and this isn’t going away any time soon

Sinn Féin Candidate Janice Boylan Denies Immigration Concerns in Dublin Central
Sinn Féin Councillor Janice Boylan has sparked anger by claiming immigration “genuinely hasn’t come up” while canvassing in Dublin Central ahead of the May 22 by-election.
Speaking to The Journal, Boylan insisted voters are focused only on “bread and butter issues” like housing and the cost of living, despite widespread reports of frustration over mass immigration, strained services, and accommodation pressures in the north inner city.
Her comments have been slammed as tone deaf and disconnected from reality.
While Boylan admits immigration dominated the recent local elections, she now pretends the issue has magically vanished on the doors a claim contradicted by other candidates and residents who say it remains a top concern.
Out of Touch on the Campaign Trail Boylan made the remarks as party leader Mary Lou McDonald joined her canvassing.
Meanwhile, she criticised independent candidate Gerry Hutch for speaking bluntly about “illegal immigrants,” dismissing concerns she claims aren’t being raised.
Critics accuse Boylan of downplaying a major issue affecting her own North Inner City ward to protect Sinn Féin’s messaging.
In a constituency hit hard by housing shortages and rapid demographic change, her denial appears more like political avoidance than honest engagement with voters.
Whether Dublin Central residents accept this dismissal will be tested on polling day.

English

@gChojnow @memibun @serenacide Early 2026 European Parliament Eurobarometer survey, found 75% of Irish surveyed,highly worried about uncontrolled immigration,other polls show similar responses.
English

@Timeo764471 @memibun @serenacide as a demographic replacer here, i hope you actually do win
but it feels like the majority of people here are either impartial to immigration or actually cheer it on
or perhaps lash out at illegal immigration but ignore the replacement happening systemically and legally.
English

@PardonMyPain @serenacide @ClynchPaula Really,R1b-L21 is a paternal (Y-DNA)
Lineage strongly associated with insular celtic populations up to 90% of Irish men carry it.
R1b-L21 is unrelated to African lineage's.
Irish =R1b-L21
African=E1b1a and other E subclades
English

@escbrave @serenacide @ClynchPaula And there is no doubt you are not Irish either.
Genetics tie the Irish to this island for millenia we didn't just arrive yesterday and state we are Irish today.
You prick
English

@Timeo764471 @serenacide @ClynchPaula You are genetically a prick.
You can be natively and culturally Irish without being "genetically" Irish, whatever that means.
English

@memibun @serenacide Look at you oikophobe,the Irish rocketing towards minority status and here you are,being the useful idiot.
English

@serenacide Ireland went through centuries of colonisation, famine and oppression just for historically illiterate racists with fake US burner accounts to sit online screaming slurs at a brown Irish woman because their tiny brains can’t process that Irish isn’t a skin colour. YIKES
English

@Evaebonyy @anairthatkills @serenacide Don't claim to be Irish when you are genetically african,haplogroup R1b-L21 is called the Celtic gene the majority of the Irish carry it,it is distinctive and connects us to this island for millenia completely different to african genetics.
English

@anairthatkills @serenacide And when the person meets all requirements of this border and immigration laws,, why them are you angry about it?
English

@serenacide @ClynchPaula Look up genetics
And haplogroup R1b-L21.
Genetically you are not Irish.
Fact.
English

@ClynchPaula You’re upset that an Irish citizen is endorsing a useful exam resource for your daughter to study, you’re literally digging for reasons to feel oppressed
