There’s an argument that the top-5 players in the East, not including Jalen Brunson, are the following: Giannis, Cade, Tatum, Haliburton, Brown. None will be involved in the ECF. The whole theory that Brunson could not win a title was premised around him not being good enough to be the best player in four playoff series. With how the East has shaken out, Brunson will have been the best player in every round of the East playoffs. Today if you do that, then your second best defender has to guard James Harden with better spacing. We remember the Cavs’ mental collapses, even in these playoffs!
