Here's the recording of my inaugural talk. If you feel you missed out on throwing ping pong balls, I have a few spare you can borrow while you watch.
(Many thanks to all who organised and helped put on this event, and those who attended in person and online).

@amy_aukland3 @ColBrough @UoE_LTConf @EdinburghUni @ColBrough haha yeah true, now you mention it, it does get bit meta when thinking outside the box results in putting things in an actual box. Glad you liked them - if you fancy a shot let me know.

Whilst visiting Kings Building for @UoE_LTConf @EdinburghUni we noticed these remote research projects developed during Covid lockdown. Loved them, alternative learning right there #EdBudds

A great summary by Adam Satur @EdNapDLTE on the recent Sustaining Connections – 2nd Annual Collaborative Conference with German U15 blogs.napier.ac.uk/dlte/2023/04/2…

@ammienoot made sure I was in a talk by @mmilinkov on the coming CRA and it is not looking good for anyone - there might be a charity get out, but it won't really be a way out for academic developers (because of the tests on what counts as commercial)

Extremely pleased to have been promoted to Senior Lecturer @SchoolOfEng_UoE; exactly 10 years after my PhD @imperialeee and the year of my 40th birthday.
That's me officially old / senior!
Thank you to all my collaborators and mentors who've made this journey so much richer.

@ammienoot @Mackiwg @Apereo @openetc @EdinburghUni Hello! Would be great to chat about sustainable edtech. How best to chat?

It was super fab working with our legendary future teaching visionary @sbayne on this @UoE_Teaching blog post about the role of technology in assessment. And just to be meta, we used AI to generate the cover image. I think I'll leave that there and let you all read the blog ....
Teaching Matters@UoE_Teaching
Professor @sbayne and Professor @TimothyDrysdale discuss the opportunities, and the risks, of assessment-related technologies. Sian is Professor of @eddiged (@MorayHouse) and Tim is the Chair of Technology Enhanced Science Education (@SchoolOfEng_UoE) teaching-matters-blog.ed.ac.uk/assessment-fee…

Software: this great advice on re-ordering git commits for the reviewer is similar to the mindset behind research ... commits start off like your lab notes then get rebased into what you show other researchers for peer review. github.blog/2022-06-30-wri…

Fab talk at PHEE22 by @DrKellermann about parity for all in hybrid learning, in the post-covid world, i.e. be a Leica, not a kodak (only one embraced digital). Also great use of AR to bring large experiments into lecture. Plus need to re-do entire uni software stack!!
English

@neilmosley5 The original blog seems to be aligned with the idea that lectures change in response to an accumulation of technology, rather than obsoleted by succession of technology (else printing press invention would have been logical end of lectures) as argued here doi.org/10.21240/mpaed…

"it is more advisable for students to just watch and listen to the live lecture, paying attention to all of the episodic sensory indicators and following the explanations, and then take notes when they re-watch the lecture in the LMS" #highereducation buff.ly/3LAivXi

@timbocop @IsaJa @SaschaVor @IsaJa can let you know after we've spoken 🤣... after all, you and I sitting on a plane earlier this month already made a lot of ideas so who knows what happens next!!

@IsaJa @SaschaVor And "copy" ... totally! Open door for that. All open source and keen to help with adoption & growth by others.
English

@TimothyDrysdale @SaschaVor This sounds super innovative. Maybe we both should meet in Zoom and share details ? I'd like to know more about your approach and experience. Maybe UTN can "copy" or learn from your project? (I will contact you)
