#OTD Jean Ribault leaves France with two ships of soldiers, heading west toward La Florida, beginning the saga of Fort de la Caroline. Not only aiming to challenge Spanish claims to the land, this journey also intended to unite a religiously-divided France toward a common goal.

The flat hat that Park Rangers wear is one of the most iconic and recognizable symbols of the National Park Service. It seems fitting that we celebrate #NationalHatDay by taking selfies in our coolest hats in front of our museum displays, in celebration of #MuseumSelfieDay.
