I had my worst travel experience in over 60 years. I rented a car online from Easirent for about $80. When I arrived to pick it up, they told me it was $120. Then they said I needed proof of insurance. I have never been asked for that. I couldn't produce the proof, so they made me pay for their insurance at $270. Never again.

We started year number 65 as a baseball coach yesterday when we started fall baseball practice at MSU, Mankato. I still enjoy coaching as much as when I started. I'm looking forward to coaching for many more years. What a great life! @MinnStBaseball @MinnBaseball @MSHSBCA

When Lou Piniella joined the Yankees in 1974 George Steinbrenner said to cut his hair it was too long. If you don't know the Yankees have a policy on no beards or long hair. Lou said this... "Our Lord Jesus Christ was the greatest person who ever lived and he had long hair" Steinbrenner then took him across the street to a swimming pool down in Florida and said, "If you can walk across that water, you can wear your hair any way you want to"

I've attached some before-and-after pictures of areas of the Waseca grandstand where veneer brick was recently added. The completion of this project has immensely enhanced the appearance of an already nice-looking grandstand.

The @WasecaBraves had four guys hit over .300 this season. Keato Roeker at .400, Tyson Reger and Kelvin Nelson at .364, Payton Garza at .305. Reger had a great year pitching. 8-3, 8 complete games, 104 strikeouts in 80 innings. Only allowed 63 hits & 19 walks. @MinnBaseball

So Close to the State Tournament! The @WasecaBraves led Cannon Falls 4-2 in the sixth inning. Score was tied in the bottom of the eighth inning. Then a throwing error allowed two unearned runs to score. We lost, 7-5. Congratulations to Cannon Falls. @MinnBaseball @CF_Bears

Ted Williams, one of the greatest natural hitters of all time, was retired and giving some tips to the rookies at the Red Sox spring training camp. One of them asked how to tell apart a curveball from a slider when they were coming in. Williams replied "Oh! That's easy. If it's a curveball, the red spot you see on the ball will be rotating clockwise - if it's a changeup, counterclockwise." They all nodded and thanked him for the tip. One of the rookies turned to the others and said whispered, "Now who the f*** can even see a red spot on a ball coming at you at 95 mph?" Then Ted Williams went on to claim that he could tell exactly where on the seams he hit a baseball. No one believed him. Ted was long retired at this point. Williiams took a bat and covered the barrel with pine tar and they started throwing him some pitches. Ted would hit and say "across the seams" or "between the seams" or "across one seam" or whatever. They retrieved the balls and found out Williams was right, EVERY single time.
