Finally leaving twitter and it's bitter sweet. I've always liked how twitter gives you news on topics I care about at the speed of light. But... the massive amount of bots and poor content moderation is a deal breaker. Goodbye dumpster fire I'll be on bluesky @titans4days.bsky

Conceptualize and design print-on-demand Magic: The Gathering vending machines that cost $10 per standard format card that allows the printing of literally any card from the entire history of the game, allowing people to pick the art, frame, version, and even customize it, like printing a recent card in one of the many older frames. It would allow for essentially unique cards that wouldn't impact the secondary market and it would cap the cost of the cheapest printing of a card at $10, with the recognition that these custom cards would likely have fairly high resale value on their own, being marked as unique by a code printed on it. There could be seasonal or special events card frames that are only available for a limited time, encouraging players to pick up the cards that they want or need directly from Wizards, but making sure that most cards are still easier to get through trading, playing, and your local stores.

Very good weekend and #NRGCHI I didn't feel like I was in the right head space to do well but made it to the semi's with Amulet Titan on Saturday before a top 32 finish in pioneer with Transmogrify, excited to play the series again next year!

@city_enjoyer @notkavi 100% agree with you. 700k liters for training is not terrible considering how immensely complex training is tbh. In the source "According to this math 20-50 questions = 0.5L." but the only costs listed were for training and not inferencing. The napkin math does not add up

@barelyRebecca @Acryllic_Risen I've played in many Regional Championships and agree with Acryllic. It's a 1 second interaction that reinforces decorum and a positive atmosphere. "May I see that?" Totally not hard to do

Can we (people who play magic competitively) all agree that asking to touch cards in the deck you just shuffled in insanely unnecessary?

@Titans4Days @Ajelenbogen @bobinchese That data is incorrect that number is simply the number of people who have a 3-day pass including those not playing in the RC and those qualified but not showing up. If you are going to cite statistics, check them first

More RCQs per store and letting people who won an event keep playing are fantastic changes.

@Ajelenbogen @bobinchese I think it is just that RCQs are fun so yes it makes it harder to do well at the RC but in a way I don’t know how big a difference 1,000 is to 1,200

@CrisSmithMTG Like my mtg career I was never that good but developed an ego along the line then later on getting humbled. My big claim to fame is being on the hit show "Wisconsin foodie" twice and winning a Wisconsin state grilled cheese.competition on a whim 🤣

One goal for 2024 is to do more cooking. I usually do meals that take 10 minutes or less. But I want to do real cooking. I used to compete in culinary competitions, but I let the passion fade. Now I'm restarting, I made a new Twitter and need suggestions on accounts to follow.

I think the one thing about Arena that has continually astounded me is just how bare the Ranked rewards are. Grind all the way to near the top and get... a few packs?

@PleasantKenobi @MagicMusicMike In my area and at RCs it was very common to do foil checks with the judges. Maybe its a regional thing? The judges were fair with their assessments and provided a simple check, shuffling your deck and picking a card a few times. If it's always the same they'll ask for a change.

@MagicMusicMike I dont think that's true. I've never had to "check my foils" with a judge before an event. Is this new policy? Are you talking facts and policy, or making stuff up?

People keep SAYING that foils aren't competitively legal anymore, but is that really true? Im not looking for people to explain to me the issues when foils curl. I get that. Im asking, TOs, Judges and players; do people not play foils anymore at events? Or is this exaggeration?
PleasantKenobi@PleasantKenobi

When was the last time you were actually excited to open a foil? In today's video I talk about the good and the bad that has come from Booster Fun, for the current collectability of the game. Video, with suitably dramatic YouTube appeasing thumbnail, up on the channel.

@BobbyFortanely Couldn't agree with this "null hypothesis" reasoning more. I see similar results in my mono G data and have seen similar patterns for other decks, with the draw winrate increasing as I master a deck more and more. Thanks for sharing the write up!

On a recent Pioneer Green video on my YouTube channel, I was asked "What are your thoughts on choosing to draw in prolonged matches like UW control or BR midrange?" Despite having +5% game win percentage postboard vs UW Control in my data, I recommend NOT to take the draw.

Was goofing around on stream tonight w/ @Drabynoops and found this, so I can conjure Soul of New Phyrexia but I can't just put it into my deck normally, a fully programmed pioneer legal card is just not available to me. It's little things like this that remind me, they don't care

@Ajelenbogen I love playing Mono Green. I haven't played Magic for fun like this since Summer Bloom was legal. Excluding days when I was on a trip, I have played matches with Mono Green during 42 of the last 45 days.
