Most stotram repetitions take 10,008 to 21,000 times to get all their fruits and siddhis, as mentioned, or to siddh that stotram as a mantra. And that happens through purashcharana and considering many other things if someone wants to attain siddhi. But normally, in daily life, a man should do it the maximum times he can — from 9 times to 21 times. And if on holidays or special tithis he has time, then 51 times to 108 times. Then he can witness the magic, power, and transformation in it. When it comes to purashcharana, many things should be taken into account. While doing normal practice and developing a connection with the deity, then take a fresh bath while remembering Mother Ganga, wear fresh clothes, take an asana, choose a Shiva temple (it intensifies the results manyfold), light a diya, and keep the spinal cord straight. Chant with focus, devotion, and love. Make sure your mind and every cell of your body is absorbed in those words, and gradually things will start changing dramatically.

Learn Om Swami’s Sri Suktam from his channel, or listen to it in his voice. Along with that, learn the Mahapurusha Suktam and then the Shiva Tandava. These can help a person financially if practiced with love, devotion, focus, and dedication over long periods and with a high number of repetitions. To completely change your financial trajectory, one major opportunity ahead is Purushottam Maas — a month dedicated to intense purushartha such as tapasya, vrata, meditation, and spiritual discipline — which begins from 17 May to 15 June. If you chant the Mahapurusha Suktam and Sri Suktam intensely while keeping yourself spiritually disciplined for the entire month, you can build strong inner focus and transformative spiritual momentum in your life. Moreover, Ekadashi Tithi begins from now onwards, and tomorrow is Ekadashi. So observe vrata, chant stotrams, read business books, learn skills, and work on yourself from both ends — spiritual effort and material effort. First of all, a person entering the householder stage of life (marriage life) should properly complete his education and earn wealth through righteous actions. Thereafter, he should marry a virtuous and well-qualified woman according to scriptural injunctions. Without wealth, the householder life is merely a mockery. Therefore, one should enter household life only after acquiring sufficient wealth. For a man, it is better to endure the suffering of terrible hell than to witness his wife and children writhing in hunger within his own home.

If it has not been received from a guru, then the Panchakshari mantra should not be pronounced. It should not be chanted. Remember, this is a Vedic mantra. Success is attained only when it is received from a guru. Nowadays, people loudly sing and pronounce such mantras publicly — understand this clearly. Pronouncing mantras openly through the mouth in this manner is completely prohibited. These are Vedic mantras. They are not like film songs that can simply be heard and sung aloud with full pronunciation. All this is wrong. This is conduct against the scriptures, and that itself is called sin — whatever is against the scriptures. Mantras are not pronounced openly. These are all Vedic mantras. Just as there is the Dwadashakshari mantra and the Panchakshari mantra — these are given by the guru. The mantra is given in the ear so that no one else hears it, yet you go on pronouncing it publicly. In an impure state, one may chant the divine name ( naam jaap, strotam and kirtan ), but not the guru mantra. The guru mantra must be chanted in a pure state, and it must be received from a guru. It is not to be chanted whimsically. Some people keep pronouncing such mantras casually through their mouths. They gain no benefit from it; instead, harm will come, because it is against Vedic principles. These Vedic mantras should be chanted according to proper principles. Name chanting can be done at any time. Kirtan of the divine name can be done in any condition. But mantra kirtan is not done. A mantra is chanted only softly (upanshu) or mentally. And that too only after receiving it from a guru — not whimsically, like ‘whatever mantra comes to mind, let me chant it,’ or ‘whatever comes to mind, let me pronounce it.’ ‘Doesn’t one get any result from that, Maharaj?’ It becomes contrary and harmful. Even a slight mistake can create the opposite effect. Once, due to a tiny error, the demon Vritrasura manifested. They were performing a yajna to manifest Vritrasura to kill Indra, but because of a slight mistake, the meaning changed into ‘one whom Indra will kill.’ Such is the nature of Vedic mantras — they are not to be treated casually. A saint in Chitrakoot once told us that anyone who pronounces Vedic mantras without a guru and in an impure condition will become lustful, angry, and greedy. Impurities and inner defects will increase within him. Where purity and freedom from defects should arise, defects themselves will increase. Nowadays, Maharaj Ji, some people read from books or speeches, and because of ignorance many books of mantras have been published. But what benefit has come from that? Who has become spiritually accomplished from it? Who has attained peace? Who has attained Brahma-jnana? Who has attained devotion? Only those who follow scriptural and guru-given discipline progress; otherwise, it is hypocrisy, drama, and performance. By merely offering one pot of water, you think devotion will arise? You are singing and pronouncing Vedic mantras whimsically — how will any benefit come from that? What realization has awakened? What spiritual state has arisen? If you follow proper Vedic principles, then spiritual progress will occur according to those principles. It does not happen by casually singing the Panchakshari mantra without qualification. And even if one has qualification, it is to be practiced softly or mentally. T he Panchakshari mantra is never performed as kirtan. Never as kirtan. The Panchakshari mantra and the Dwadashakshari mantra are never sung as kirtan.

Chanting a mantra without nyasa, dhyana, digbandha, chhanda, and proper ritual procedures can create disturbances and many problems in one’s life. By God’s grace, I have not chanted any Vedic mantra more than 1,000 times in the past 2.5 years. Otherwise, I might not be where I am today. In the future, I will chant mantras with proper vidhi and framework, under divine guidance, and attain their full merits and fruits. The proper pathway is to chant stotrams for years. That makes one eligible for Sahasranama chanting, and only then should one think about mantra practice. Only after completing stotram and Sahasranama chanting should one move toward deeper mantra sadhana. Otherwise, in this Kaliyuga, one may not be able to yield positive results. As it is said, Kaliyuga is nama-adhara (sustained by the Divine Name), and Sahasranama is a form of nama-japa. Directly jumping into intense Vedic mantra chanting — even God may not rescue someone from the negative consequences.
