@massevbeeniss I’ve never played Nuts & Bolts, but it doesn’t look like THAT bad of a game. I’m wondering if they didn’t slap Banjo-Kazooie on the cover, and it was an original game, if people would remember it more fondly, if at all.

I agree there’s been heavy Nintendo bias on gaming YouTube since forever and understand why a lot of people who didn’t grow up with BK would find it’s constant accolades obnoxious. But also screw you, I love Banjo-Kazooie.

Look, I don’t think Banjo-Kazooie is the second coming of Christ or even in my top 25 3D platformers, but some of you are downplaying that game to a ridiculous extent, making up scenarios about why the game is beloved instead of respectfully disagreeing with the general consensus

@solrocknroll Actually thinking about it, that makes a lot of sense given how “Dragon Quest-y” Gen 1 feels compared to Gen 2. That was probably from Tajiri.

@solrocknroll @BenjuKatchowee GS were designed as the last hurrah for the series, so they actively tried to make it bigger and better than RG. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if Tajiri stayed on as the director, but honestly, I can see why he stepped away. He probably thought he couldn’t top Gen 2.

@BenjuKatchowee I think people often forget that this is how Gen 2 was envisioned. They’re the new kids joining the Gen 1 main cast. Gen 3 was basically a soft reboot in a way and codified the format for the rest of the series, but you can’t judge Gen 2 by that standard

Then again, the difference between me and your average Nintendo youtuber with a 64 is that I’m actually curious about games on other platforms, and not just ones I grew up with.

the last showa lupin series!! Part 3 imo is rly fun, haven’t finished it but plan to do so too, i only watched the first 20 or so episodes and even then i thought it was really fun!!
