another insane thing about Pokémon Champions is the fact that afaik there's only one battle arena. Every previous Pokémon battle sim had tons of battle arenas for visual variety. But in two years dev time for Champions they only made ONE?

@inkfycreates U hit the nail on the head. They do need competition, and other creature catching games or rpgs have been a thing. Palworld and especially Pickmon are just more slop or plagiaristic. The Pokemon games sell well but the franchise is a juggernaut because of merchandising, TV, film

My opinion is that no monster-taming game will ever compete with Pokemon because the circumstances that caused the franchise to boom to begin with can not be replicated. Pokemon is not just the games. Until people get this, we'll be having the same conversations. lol

Today @PlayStation showed the gaming world including all independent studios that you SHOULD NEVER agree to be acquired by Sony. Sony didn’t just fumble the bag today but for their future as well, as no self respecting studio would ever consider joining the PlayStation team now.
