@SugarRushGames @Stealth40k I guess that depends on your opinion on Sonic Superstars. I’ve never played it but I’ve heard it was okay. Realistically the idea of Arzest being the developer made me have second thoughts about my preorder.

Kumi Tanioka is the composer of Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. She worked on FF XI, the FF Crystal Chronicles series, the Super Smash Bros. series and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Not a Nintendo Composer, so more evidence this wasn't developed in-house.

@worstlunamain @Stealth40k That lines up with what I was thinking, but you’ve dug deeper than I’ve gone. It’s nice finding someone else who’s at least considered Arzest being the developer. Everyone else online seems dead-set on Good-Feel.

NateTheHate says he has zero doubts that a new Star Fox game will be announced soon: “I have zero doubt in the StarFox project — hell, VGC and a French journalist have also spoken about the game and back the info of it coming in June. If it doesn’t get revealed this month as planned, it simply means Nintendo made a marketing pivot and adjusted the timeline a touch. I enjoy seeing the revisionist history around Splatoon Raiders when you had people doubting it would even release this year just days before I dropped this episode.” He did say Splatoon Raiders would be a summer game when there was basically no evidence to support that at the time. mynintendonews.com/2026/04/26/nat…

@NotSlimeNuhUh @nocosttooblue @kewlbot I thought that too, but then I looked up the director of the game and some of the other senior people, and they haven’t been credited in anything since like Miitomo. They might be making Rhythm Heaven too though, as the interview had some stuff blurred out.

@nocosttooblue @kewlbot You do realize they don't just work on 1 game right. This EPD team also helped developed The 2 famicom detective club remakes, Emio the smiling man, Metroid Dread and others. They didn't JUST work on Tomodachi for 9 years, they worked on like 4-5 other games at the same time.

Every day I’m more confused by Nintendo’s marketing strategy. Yoshi is set to release in a month and we haven’t even gotten an overview trailer. Frankly, we’ve barely even seen the game. What’s the plan there?

This solidifies in my mind the idea that the “Mii” franchise is ongoing and hasn’t been abandoned by Nintendo. I wouldn’t say the franchise is one of Nintendo’s “big 6” but I believe there’s a conscious push to make Mii games. Not because they need to, but because they want to.

From reading through this article, it’s clear to me just how much Nintendo cares about Miis, and how much respect they have for them as characters. Frankly, they are one of the most important things the Wii contributed to modern Nintendo.

@MikeOdysseyYT I like your reporting Mike, but this is incorrect. Nintendo is actually encouraged to use any trademark they claim, regardless of its status as registered. Using the trademark can help prove ownership if someone contests said ownership in the future.

Anyone asking why have we only seen a trailer with no release date on Rhythm Haven Groove then silence? Well Nintendo could not do anything before the date listed before which is the trademark opposition deadline. Once it's published on the gazette, Nintendo is free to share an official release date.

I also fully expect Rhythm Heaven to launch in the same month as another game, perhaps Splatoon Raiders. It will not carry a month alone, and thus, may launch sooner than expected.

For example: Feb - Mario Tennis, Virtual Boy, and MyMario March - Pokémon Pokopia, Mario Wonder SW2 Edition April - Tonodachi Life, Pokemon Chanpions Even January, a usually quiet month, got the AC update. Thus, there’s a lot more to come this year.

With the announcement of Pokémon Champions, it seems like Nintendo is continuing to double up releases in each month, which usually means they have quite the lineup they need to get out there. Granted, the second release is usually the smaller one, but still.

Of course I don’t blame them for delays - they happen - but you generally shouldn’t be announcing games a year in advance anyways. Prime 4’s early announcement hurt more than it helped, same with Tomodachi Life, Rhythm Heaven, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Splatoon Raiders, ACNH, etc.

I don’t believe these early announcements help marketing at all. I’d rather Nintendo keep quiet about projects in development right until they’re ready to start the marketing cycle - that would make each announcement way more exciting.

One of the most frustrating parts of Nintendo’s marketing recently has been their tendency to announce games too early. I under they’re better than the industry in this regard, but as a fan it’s hard to get excited for games over 6 months in advance. What makes it worse is that..

@nin10doland @SFproductions_1 I’m with you, but saying so gets you demolished online. Truth is Switch 2’s launch just wasn’t as strong as Switch 1.

I know a lot of people are all upset over the Direct not happening but I'll just say this. 1.) Never felt right for Feb since day one, partner directs ALWAYS replace generals. 2.) March of course is always on the table but I think predictions saying "I'm hearing Feb or March...or April" is pretty silly, too vague to the point where anyone under the sun can predict. Let's not do those anymore.

It’s no wonder they’re opening a bunch of stores. If they truly want full control of their brand, they can’t just make the products, they need to sell them themselves.

I’m sure that the time between announcement and release in the US was used to negotiate distribution, but retailers weren’t interested in the more expensive products, forcing Nintendo to sell the line themselves. Considering Nintendo’s ambitions and propensity to control…

MyMario releases tomorrow, yet it remains to be seen how the products - mainly the blocks - will be distributed. In Japan, the blocks seem to be available at more than just the Nintendo stores, but something tells me Target isn’t interested in $200 blocks.
