BYU QB Treyson Bourguet joined @espnthefan to break down the speed of this BYU team and his history with Kyler Kasper: Q: Is Evan Johnson as fast as Mory Bamba? Was Mory actually the fastest guy on the squad this last year? Treyson Bourguet: Well, the thing is, nobody ever saw me run full speed, so I don’t know if we’ll ever really be able to tell who’s the fastest. But seriously, Evan and Mory—they would go at it all the time whenever we’d do races. Some would say Mory was faster, some would say Evan was faster. I think it just depended on the day. Q: I’ve heard Joe Douglas tries to keep up with those guys. Who else is in that mix as far as fastest on the team? Treyson Bourguet: Yeah, our DB room is very, very fast. We’ve got Tommy Prassas—he’ll sneak up on people. Tre Alexander is really fast. Then you’ve got some sleepers like Kyler Casper—his speed will sneak up on you. JoJo Phillips too. And even some of the freshmen—Terrence is really fast, and Legend Glasker—those guys can roll. Q: Let’s talk about Kyler Casper—6’6”, 212, and he can move. He’s finally healthy. You kind of grew up with him, right? You may have even had a role in recruiting him to BYU. Tell us about Kyler and how he ended up here. Treyson Bourguet: Yeah, I’ve known Kyler since he was about 15 or 16 years old. He’s always been a great guy, great family—very athletic family. His dad’s awesome. We’ve always talked about teaming up in college, wherever that was going to be. When I got to BYU, one of the first things I wanted to do was recruit guys I knew—guys I grew up with or felt weren’t being fully utilized where they were. Me and Kyler had been working on this for a little over two years, and to finally get him here representing the Cougars—it’s been a ton of fun. I’m really excited for him to show what he’s capable of. Full interview: spreaker.com/episode/3-20-2… 📸: @BYUfootball @BYUphoto
