Then there are things like music, politics, culture etc. It's deeper than just football.

In 2026 its literally just success rivalries. These aren't the same clubs they were in the 80s. These are enormous marketing machines. It's time to wake up.

I see both sides, I think the vast majority of English people support a team relatively local to them and because of their dads/mums team etc etc, but I've been on the other side of the world watching United with people from east asia, and they felt like as much of a fan as me. The thing is, they'll never fully "get it" because they'll never understand the cultural side of things that come with supporting your local team. Foreign fans think that United and Liverpool have rivalry because of the success of the teams, when in reality it goes much deeper than that.
