This was inspired by @Sassafrass_84 and I love it. The best food in the world is poor people food. Spaetzle is German peasant food. Carbonara is what Italian laborers ate. Colcannon is Irish survival cooking. Meatballs are what every grandmother on earth made when she had to stretch a pound of meat across six plates. I make all of it. My friends think I’m bougie because I serve lamb burgers and fresh bread. Baby, that’s not bougie. That’s a woman who learned that poor people in every country figured out how to make something extraordinary out of almost nothing. The French just added a wine pairing and called it fine dining. What’s your favorite “poor people food”? I want the recipe and the story behind it. 🦋

@ToFasst Big food corrupting what we eat to make a profit. There’s a reason none of us were fat in the 70’s and 80’s. We were eating real food, nothing “processed”.

First they confuse you… then they sell you the replacement. Steak becomes “dangerous.” Eggs become “risky.” Butter becomes “outdated.” Then suddenly… “Plant-based meat” “Liquid eggs” “Seed oil spreads” Same shelf. Higher price. Bigger marketing. It was never about your health. It was about control of your plate. Real food doesn’t need a re brand.
