The only claim here is from Todd, who said, “Nobody calls them the stones.” Which I’ve proven wrong on multiple occasions. Hope this helps.

@TaliaGraceSable You are agreeing to the travel and luggage requirements. No banned in your bags etc. It also starts the flight manifest by creating the boarding pass. The final cross check is when you check in at the gate and board. Prior to the internet everyone stood in line and checked in

@samueljrob Native Detroiters that really follow the Pistons knew they’ve been called the stones. Just the casual fans in Detroit feel like it doesn’t count cuz they didn’t know…but you have to follow the team for real to know, not just have a Detroit address.
